These terms are an agreement between you and [company name, to be published] ("we"), which runs Taareef. By signing in to Taareef you agree to them and to the Community guidelines. How we handle your data is in the Privacy policy.
1. Who we are
Draft, pending legal reviewTaareef is run by [company name, to be published], [registered address, to be published].
Taareef is an app for sending friends recommendations with a short voice note. It is run by [company name, to be published], registered at [registered address, to be published]. You can reach us at help@taareef.in.
2. Your account
Draft, pending legal reviewYour phone number is your account. Keep your phone and your sign-in codes safe.
- You sign in with a phone number that you control. One account belongs to one number.
- Never share a sign-in code. We will never ask you for one.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has used it, use "That wasn't me" in the app or write to us straight away.
- If your number is given to someone new by your mobile operator, the new holder can create their own account with it. Your old account is then kept, hidden, until you recover it or ask us to delete it.
3. Using Taareef
Draft, pending legal reviewTaareef is for personal, non-commercial use.
You may use Taareef to send and receive personal recommendations. Don't use it to advertise, to send bulk or automated messages, or to collect other people's data. Taareef is first available in India.
4. What you send
Draft, pending legal reviewYour voice notes are yours. You let us store them and deliver them to the people you choose.
You keep the rights to what you create on Taareef, such as voice notes, notes and replies. You give us a licence to store, transcribe, process and deliver them to the people you choose, and, if you share a link, to anyone who has it, for as long as needed to run Taareef. You are responsible for what you send, and you must have the right to send it.
5. Packs and Explore
Draft, pending legal reviewPacks summarise public sources and always link to them. The people featured are not affiliated with Taareef.
Packs in Explore are summaries written by Taareef of things people have said in public, such as on a podcast or in an interview, with a link to the source. They are not the featured person's own account, and the people featured do not endorse Taareef. Cards for films, songs, places and books show information from third-party services, which own it.
6. Things you can't do
Draft, pending legal reviewNo harassment, hate, sexual content, spam or impersonation. We can remove content and accounts that break this.
Follow the Community guidelines. In particular, don't send anything illegal, harass or threaten anyone, send sexual content involving anyone under 18, share intimate images without consent, pretend to be someone else, or try to break, overload or get around the security of Taareef.
7. Reports and removal
Draft, pending legal reviewReport a voice note, a person or a Pack from the ••• menu. We review every report.
We review reports and may remove content, limit or suspend an account, or ban a phone number when the rules or the law are broken. We tell you when we act on your account and how to appeal. We act on lawful orders from courts and government agencies as Indian law requires.
8. Ending your account
Draft, pending legal reviewYou can delete your account at any time in Settings.
You can delete your account in Settings, or as described on Delete your account. Deletion takes effect after 30 days. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; we never delete an account just because it is inactive.
9. Links and other services
Draft, pending legal reviewLinks open outside Taareef. Other companies' services have their own terms.
Recommendations link to other websites and apps, such as streaming services, maps and stores. We don't control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or terms.
10. Our responsibility
Draft, pending legal reviewWe work hard to keep Taareef running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
Taareef is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by other people's content, by services we link to, or by events outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited.
11. Law and disputes
Draft, pending legal reviewIndian law applies.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Before going to court, please raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer; see Support and grievances.
12. Changes to these terms
Draft, pending legal reviewWe'll tell you in the app before big changes take effect.
When we change these terms, we update the date above. If a change is significant, we tell you in the app before it takes effect; if you keep using Taareef after that, the new terms apply.
