Taareef is for telling friends about things you love. These guidelines apply to everything you send: voice notes, notes, replies, names and photos.
1. Be kind

Taareef works because people trust a friend's voice. Send things you believe in, and keep replies respectful, even when you didn't love it.
2. No harassment, threats or hate

Don't threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone, keep contacting someone who has blocked or ignored you, or attack people for their religion, caste, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any similar characteristic.
3. No sexual content, and never involving children
Draft, pending legal reviewNo sexual content. Anything sexual involving someone under 18 is removed, reported to the authorities and gets the account banned.
Don't send sexual or pornographic content. Child sexual abuse and exploitation is never allowed: read our Child safety standards. Never share intimate images of anyone without their consent.
4. Be yourself

Don't impersonate a person, a public figure or an organisation, or suggest that someone endorses you or Taareef when they don't.
5. No spam, scams or fraud

Don't send unsolicited advertising, chain messages, phishing or malicious links, or try to trick anyone out of money or information.
6. Nothing illegal or dangerous

Don't promote violence or terrorism, sell illegal goods, or encourage self-harm. If someone you know may be at risk, contact local emergency services.
7. Respect privacy and rights

Don't share someone's phone number, address or other private details without their permission, and don't send content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark.
8. Reporting

You can report a recommendation, a reply, a person or a Pack from the ••• menu. Choose the reason that fits best, including child safety, intimate images and impersonation. You can also block anyone, and you can choose to receive recommendations only from your contacts.
9. What we do
Draft, pending legal reviewWe review reports quickly, and act in proportion to the harm.
We aim to act on reports within 24 hours, and within 2 hours for intimate images, impersonation and child safety. Depending on what happened, we may hide the content, warn the sender, limit or suspend the account, or ban the phone number. We tell you when we act on your account, and you can appeal from the app.
